Normandy Beaches

So the latest adventure is to France to visit the Normandy Beaches.  I have heard a lot of good things about the history of the area, the time and care taken to preserve the original WW2 landing sites, respect the fallen, those who gave their lives for our freedoms. It's been 82 years since those thousands of courageous souls stormed the beaches and an important part of our history.

My brother; Jon is an RAF Veteran ๐Ÿ‘จ‍โœˆ๏ธ and was stationed at various UK sites including; Coltishall, Mount Batten  and Halton during his service. He is no longer in active service,  (like all of us, age unfortunately catches up with us)  ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป‍๐Ÿฆณ๐Ÿ˜ต‍๐Ÿ’ซ. However, I would like to thank him and the many other people he served with, for the service they gave.

I'm lucky enough to be doing this trip with some lovely people; Tracy, Rodney & Kaz and lucky enough to call them friends ๐Ÿฅฐ.  Kaz is an Army Veteran (for 30 years no less) and saw active service.

The place we are camping for the first few days is Le Chateau Martragny. Which looks amazing ๐Ÿฅฐ

So England beat Mexico ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ. Of the many sites and beaches we will visit, we will have to taste the local wines ๐Ÿท, sample the local food ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ˜‹ and generally enjoy ourselves.  The weather is set to be hot (another heatwave perhaps.....๐ŸŒž)The sunflowers should be blooming ๐ŸŒปand we will hopefully find out how the Tour de France is getting along.

I'll update my blog a couple of times during the week if you want to come back and have a read ๐Ÿ˜Š.  thank you & cheers. Click on one of the pictures below to have a read

Bayeaux

Although Iโ€™ve never had the chance to see the Bayeux Tapestry, it would have been wonderful to experience it while I was in Bayeux. Unfortunately, itโ€™s currently on exhibition in London. If I want to see it, Iโ€™ll have to return to the UK. ๐Ÿ™„

Juno & Gold Beaches

Some days start in the best of ways. I crept out of Kaz's Campervan this morning (trying hard not wake her up) to a beautiful sunrise & was promptly hit on the foot by an apple that fell from the tree next to us! ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ
