Although I’ve never had the chance to see the Bayeux Tapestry, it would have been wonderful to experience it while I was in Bayeux. Unfortunately, it’s currently on exhibition in London. If I want to see it, I’ll have to return to the UK. ๐Ÿ™„

I love the information people send me about things I've written on this blog.  I put a photo on of a sailor kissing a nurse & have been told that the actual photo (see below) was taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a sailor kissing a nurse on V-J day August 1945 in Times Square, New York  - thank you Richard for the info, it is much appreciated โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Today we have been to Bayeaux and the Battery Allemande at Longues-Sur-Mer. A shorter day on the bike some 27 miles (43 kms) 1,000 ft (308 meters) of ascent.

The guns are enormous, incredibly powerful & able to fire a distance of 17.5 kms, all the way to Omaha beach. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ข

Thanks for the photo, Iโ€™ve had a number of messages about it. Amazing that so many people knew about it & none of us did ๐Ÿ˜ณ.
