I love quirky things, so here's something to think about 🤯😳. The taps in my en-suite were the wrong way round! So the cold was on the left & hot on the right & to turn them on, you had to turn them clockwise, so try your taps at home - having everything in reverse scrambles your brain 🧠 🥴😂😂. Equally random were the "cheese grater" lampshades at lunch 🥴🤯
Today, we spent a significant portion of our ride cycling along and being buffeted by the "breeze" (aka 40 mph gusts) on the stunning North Sea coast, passing by Hawick Hall, Seahouses and the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. Where we stopped for lunch 😋 (see Cheese-Graters). We passed Belford Hall, before arriving at Beal & the causeway to Holy Island. We covered a total of 43 miles (69.3 km) with an ascent of 2,300 ft (721 m), making it a relatively easy ride in the grand scheme of things.
We're staying at the Lindisfarne Inn tonight (I wonder if its haunted 👻)😧
Lindisfarne Castle is a beautiful 16th-century Tudor fort located on Holy Island. If you plan to visit (or have already visited), access to Holy Island is determined by the tides.
The causeway is lovely to ride, or, you could use the "Pilgrims Way" which is a walking route marked out by 112 wooden poles, probs best to take your shoes & socks off as you will sink into quite deep mud! 🥴😳. The poles look quite tall so presumably you can't get lost 😞
Back in (I think) the late 60's or early 70's, there was a renowned English folk group called "Lindisfarne" . They had hits like Fog on the Tyne & Lady Eleanor. I'm not 100% sure on the dates, so please let me know if you have any insights into the band or if they had any other hits. 🎼🎵🎤🎸
This weekend there is a festival on, apparently Music, Magic & Mayhem 🤷♀️🎸🎤🎼🎵 looks like a great line up

It sounds like you are having a lovely time. We walked part of the coastal path when we were up there in June and the winds were terrible then too. I think it must be the norm.. you must have heard of nor'easter winds, I've always related them to that part of the world. Thankfully it's stayed dry for you and doesn't look to bad for the weekend 🤞🏼. We're hoping to get to Bamburgh castle next week.
