It would be remiss of me on this blog not to mention “Wendy’s Wheelers” this group was set up in June 2022 to try and encourage people in my home town to cycle, it was aimed at beginners and people who want to cycle but don’t like going out on their own or for people who have never cycled.

It has bought together a great bunch of people, who are totally mad! 🀦‍♀️ they are incredibly supportive to each & other and specifically me πŸ₯°

Rides have to involve Haribo, coffee & cake (usually) or beer. All of them now have skills they didn’t have 12 months ago & I am really proud of them. We ride on bike paths, trails & quiet lanes, usually on mountain bikes or hybrids, there is no pressure to go quickly, the objective is to enjoy the local countryside & each others company, so I’m going to dedicate this blog to them. I’ll look forward to seeing them when I get back 😊🚴‍♀️πŸ₯°

A few of the group in our Wendy's Wheelers t-shirts. they are such a great & mad group of people 🚡‍β™€οΈπŸ˜Ž

We didn’t do to much cycling in 2023 mainly due to the weather, every time we organised something between July and December it rained β›ˆοΈ going out on a cold, dull, damp grey day isn’t much fun and that was August!  However, I’m determined that 2024 will be different and we have lots more adventures

A riot at the Country Park

You can always count on the Wheelers to have a good laugh, lots of fun and usually something happens!!  I would say most rides are an "experience" 🀣 This week was no exception.   In Lutterworth, there has been a huge construction over a good number of years and finally a Country Park is being built, for the last few weeks, the Friday evening ride out's have included going around the Country Park, as it is still being built it subject to change from one week to the next.  Yesterday we headed out on the cycle paths up the slope (sorry mountain) to get to the start of the Park.

Friday night is pub nite....

Great to see some of the Wheelers out this evening on our first Friday pub run of the year. Β Lighter nights and NO RAIN,, what’s not to like πŸ˜ŠπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ We also have two new members, so hopefully we haven’t put them off and they will join us for more rides. Β  We went for a short ride around the newly created country park using the gravel paths. It’s still a bit damp after so much rain and tonight was very windy, but it’s such a joy to finally get out see people and not get wet! Β Hopefully we will have a lot more rides out as the evenings get lighter and the weather improves 🀞🀞. Β Thank you Wheelers πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
