Yesterday evening I managed to find the Pink Church (I've attached a photo). See some brightly coloured houses (they were lovely), sampled some of the local food, it was delicious π. Oddly I didn't see much in the way of violins π» . I did see lots of shops selling Lederhosen!!
I do know I woke at 6 am this morning, the Pink Church Bells π were very loud π³.

How do cows in this part of the world sleep with bells π hung around their necks. I understand they need to be found, but if I had a bell around my neck & couldn't sleep I'd be proper grumpy π‘.

There was for us, only one way out of Mittenwald & that was upwards, up a blooming' great big hill. The gradients were not difficult, but on cold muscles it was tough. A massive scary descent with lots of hairpin bends certainly raised the heart rate π€―.
We set off in the dry, and then the rain arrived & it hasn't stopped all day! We cycled 69 ish miles (111 km) with an ascent of 4400 ft ( 1373 metres). Tbh is was on cycle paths and easy cycling.
After our afternoon coffee stop, we had to keep our passports with us, as we cycled through Germany, Austria, Switzerland and back into Austria. 3 countries in 1 day. Amazing π».
An interesting day, part of the route is blocked by landslides, so we had to go from Pfunds to Nauders by bus. Apparently the traffic on the diversion has increased considerably and cycling is prohibited π³ π².

At some point this morning, I hit something hard & my gears went into crash mode. Rob (one of our group) very kindly sorted it out, unfortunately it's still not happy and the front derailleur is not cooperating, so I'm pedalling like an idiot (I know that's not unusual) and going no where fast π₯΄ Fingers crossed I can get sorted this evening, tomorrow at the latest π€

Here's hoping tomorrow it stops raining ππ€
Nauders is where Austria, Italy and Switzerland meet and is beautifully situated in the Stillbach Valley, surrounded by the majestic Ötztal Alps. It is beautiful π and the view from my hotel room is fabulous. I'm off to try & fix my bike, & grab some food. Thank you for reading & I'll hopefully see you tomorrow.

Please leave a comment or ask a question, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Your email address won't be published π if you prefer not to leave a comment, a star rating would be great, or do both π΄π
